Tiger Beer TV ad (English; 35mm film) |
| | | I play a
supporting role (they called it a lead role but it wasn't) in this TV
ad to be broadcast in Asia over a
two-year period.
I'm a friend
of a guy who creatively sets up an elaborate network of mirrors to be
able to watch his soccer game
from anywhere in the house, even on the
way to the refrigerator to get another Tiger.
Shot January 2005 |

|
This 30-second spot done in the US has me playing a character named
"Johnny Broke", a used car
salesman-type reporting from "Debt". The ad
is for a radio station (Z-100) running a promo to pay of
listeners'
credit card debt.
Broadcast January, 2003 on Warner Brothers TV (channel 23) in Portland, Oregon, USA.

| Pizza Hut TV ad (35mm film)
|
|
This has to have
been one of the easiest productions I've acted in. All I had to do was
pretend to
make some pizza dough with sausage in the crust in front of
my miniature elves. They were only
a few inches tall, running around on
my kitchen table...yes, it was bizzare...when I worked for
Pizza Hut in
college we never had elves...
Broadcast December, 2002. |

This
120-second Asia-Pacific promo has me as a spastic French chef
introducing movies of each
day of the week. What this chef lacks in
culinary skills is made up in an over-the-top fake accent
and
excessively-flamboyant antics.
|
Broadcast in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and India. From February
2002 to February 2003.

Here the viewers
think I'm on a plane, but then as the camera zooms out, it shows that
I'm
actually in my living room watching Cinemax and eating popcorn. It
was really shot in my own house.
Broadcast in Asia-Pacific; 2003

My wife and I are
enjoying a great evening at home watching Cinemax and eating
popcorn...
when suddenly...we spot a thief in the house! (See him in the
background?) My wife jumps
up to fight off the muscular thief, and I,
the timid husband, try to hold her back.
She ends up beating him
up and leaving him bruised and battered. In the end, the three of us
watch
Cinemax in our house together, and the thief and I agree that my
wife is a real 'shero'. This promo is
for movies featuring heroins
('sheros').
Broadcast in the Asia-Pacific beginning September, 2002.

As a surgeon,
another doctor and I are desperately working to apparently save the
life of a dying
patient. The scene is tense, and the doctors are
running out of time. Suddenly I tell my colleague
that we've got it! It
turns out we had fixed the remote control, and I happily turn on the
TV. We then
proceed to eat potato chips out of a stainless-steel
operating tray, and drink coke from an IV.
Broadcast in Singapore from April 2002 onwards.
HBO Promo

My character, a
cheesy sunbather at a pool, becomes enchanted with a girl as she walks
by.
My less-excited friend tells me she's not hot but HBO is.
Broadcast in India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, May, 2002.

| As a young and
well-to-do executive, my character is socialising at a pool party with
two other
cool guys. A beautiful woman approaches, but she turns out to
be the wife of one of the other guys.
